Peter is the host for Sunday night volunteer shifts. He originally Books To Prisoners Olympia through the Inside Books Project in Austin, TX. He enjoys eating and packing, is the inheritor of the green vinyl chair and free vegetable stewmaker.

Andrea is the host for Monday afternoon volunteer shifts. She is a student at Evergreen, loves being at BTP, and works occasionally at REI

this is max. Max is the host for Friday afternoon volunteer shifts and acts as one of BTP’s two treasurers. she’s been doing prison book project work since she was 16! first in seattle, then in new york city now and olympia. max loves popcorn!

JR is one of the two substitute keyholders. she is an independent artist and seamstress, plus the liason and volunteer coordinator of the dollar bin at dumpster values.

this is laurel. laurel is the other substitute keyholder and one of the two treasurers. she has been active with btp olympia since 2002 and fires up the btp tea kettle at least 3 times each day she’s here. TEA!

this is emily becker. she’s a big part of the heart of BTP olympia. currently she’s in bolivia doing all sorts of things. learn about what’s going on with her at her blog called 5000 potatoes. emily was one of our two outrageous pizza chefs at the fertile ground pizza cafe in 2006. look at that pizza!

this is alex. alex is one of BTP’s keyholders. he’s often found wrapping packages expertly at the wrapping desk on sundays. nobody has wrapped as neat a package since long hair david! alex is pro material. seriously. sadly, he’s currently on hiatus in seattle.

this is asher. asher is looking for a date with a 1976 El Camino, preferably burgundy with cream color leather interior. ze has a love affair with Books To Prisoners and promises to take every BTP package to the P.O. as soon as hir Camino comes hir way. style and utility!

this is asaya. asaya frequents books to prisoners here and there. a true friend of the project and a nice person too. maker of bookmarks and righteous package filler. Asaya is currently at language school in South America!

this is david. david was behind the btp olympia startup in 1996. to this day he wraps the tidiest packages, using what he calls “shims” to make them ultra square, and thus, very well suited to mailing.

this is penfold. penfold is waving hello to you. he lifts folks’ spirits everywhere he goes and graces books to prisoners with his presence every so often.
